http://www.englishexercises.org/makeagame/my_documents/my_pictures/2008/ago/Z1A_esca_alcatraz_l.jpgAlcatraz is a little island one and half miles from San Francisco downtown. Between 1933 to 1963 Alcatraz was a prison. All of the trouble makers from other prison would be sent there. Alcatraz was known as the inescapable prison. It’s called that because it’s an island, big rough currants, shark infested waters, around 150 security guards, cold waters and lots of gun towers. 1000s had been to Alcatraz over the 30 years of it being a prison but only 36 dared to try and escape the inescapable prison. One person, John Paul Scott made it all the way to San Francisco harbor  Some teenagers found him on shore dyeing of hypothermia. They called the ambulance and took them to the hospital. As soon as he was ok again he got sent back to Alcatraz. He was the only person known to live and get across; but there were 2 others who might have got away but they think they drowned. Now Alcatraz is something where lots of people can go have a look around.
