Suspense In Our Writing

In Room 4 we have been learning how to add suspense in our sport writing. Here are some examples:

"The whistle strikes through my head. I stick on the opposition like tape. Every second counts, every defend helps, and every point adds up! Who will win?" Freya.

"He swooped through the water, hope filled in his heart." Itamar.

"As the sun bounced off the water into his face he was blinded, a big handicap. Who will emerge VICTORIOUS?" Joseph.

"People cheering for their house fills the air. I jump into the pool and everyone goes silent. Then "boom" the gun goes and then everyone screams once again." Xanthe.

  1. Great to see you share your first draft ideas... the best way to get feed forward is to share. Love it.
